Donald Trump’s militarized immigration crackdown has reached terrifying new heights.

On Friday, heavily armed ICE agents stormed communities in Los Angeles using armored trucks, rifles, and stun grenades. In a shocking escalation, thousands of National Guard troops were deployed across Southern California, followed by hundreds of Marines.

What began as ICE raids quickly turned into a full-scale military operation against American neighborhoods. Let’s be clear about what this was: State-sponsored terrorism.

Trump and Republican leaders are using these extreme tactics to instill fear, suppress dissent, and criminalize immigrant communities. These raids are reminiscent of authoritarian regimes, not a democracy that values justice, due process, and human dignity.

Governor Gavin Newsom called the raids “an outrageous abuse of federal power” and warned that the deployment of troops against civilians “cannot become the norm in America.” He’s right.
