Denounce Trump’s Probe of United Auto Workers President

Donald Trump’s Department of Justice is going after United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain — and workers everywhere should be alarmed.

Fain helped lead one of the most successful labor fights in recent memory, taking on the Big Three automakers and winning historic gains for UAW members. He has also been one of the country’s most visible voices for working people, corporate accountability, and union power.

Now Trump’s DOJ is escalating a probe targeting him, using a grand jury investigation that Fain and his allies say is politically motivated. 

The timing is impossible to ignore. When a union leader stands up to corporate power and then faces scrutiny from an administration hostile to organized labor, the public has every reason to demand answers.
