Don’t Let AI Data Centers Destroy the Environment

AI is supposed to shape the future — but right now it’s wrecking the planet to power itself.

Across the country, mega–data centers are draining drinking water, overwhelming power grids, and pumping out pollution at staggering levels. Some consume as much electricity as a small city. Others swallow billions of gallons of water a year just to cool servers.

Families are being told to conserve while Big Tech guzzles resources at record speed. And Trump’s allies in Congress are fast-tracking even more of these facilities — with no climate rules, no transparency, and no protections for the communities they’re draining dry.

It’s time to fight back. Tell Congress:  “Don’t let AI data centers destroy the environment. Pass a nationwide moratorium on new AI mega–data centers until strong climate, water, and community safeguards are in place.”

Environmental and justice groups are demanding a national moratorium before the damage becomes irreversible. Once these centers are built, the pollution and water loss are locked in for decades.

This is about survival, not just Big Tech. Our air, our water, and our future shouldn’t be sacrificed so tech giants can chase faster AI models while our communities pay the price.
