End the Walk for Water

Samrun began the long walk to the handpump in the dark at 4 a.m. By the time she arrived, at least a dozen women had already formed a line. The water was often unreliable and unsafe, but for Samrun and the 25 other families in her village in West Bengal, India, there was no alternative. 

Around the world, millions of girls and women like Samrun spend hours every day walking to collect water. They are among the 2 billion people globally who urgently need access to clean water.
