Extend the Deadline for Higher Education Aid

Hiccups in the rollout of the new FAFSA application have caused significant delays and even more hurdles for students attending college in the fall. 

These delays mean that many students have not yet received offers for aid, preventing them from finalizing plans not knowing how much they’ll be expected to pay for school. 

We must do better for students and their families. Sign the petition to extend the deadline for higher education aid. 

Every student, new or returning, must submit the FAFSA in order to be eligible for federal grants and loans. FAFSA is also used to determine financial aid provided from schools too. With delays and incorrect information, students are left in limbo. 

In order to make plans and ensure college is affordable, we need to ensure students have time to receive the funding they are entitled to. Extending the deadline for aid will allow students to receive the appropriate information and make the decision that’s best for them.
