Hold Walmart Accountable for Taking Advantage of Customers

Customers who shopped at Walmart in the U.S. and Puerto Rico have been overpaying for certain sold-by-weight meat, seafood, and citrus sold in bulk bags.

At the checkout counter, customers were charged a price higher than what was advertised on the shelf.

Walmart is a retailer that provides shoppers with rollback and discount pricing. Any attempt to trick or squeeze even more money out of pockets is flat out wrong.

A lawsuit will provide impacted customers with a settlement payment.

“All retailers have a duty to ensure the price their customers pay at the register is the same one they see on shelves,” said Attorney General Phil Weiser.

“Today’s settlement provides consumers with reassurance that they’re paying the price they expect when they shop at Walmart and other stores,” Weiser added.

Walmart needs to be held accountable for taking advantage of loyal customers who shop “everyday low prices” for a reason.
