America’s teachers are at a breaking point—and our children are paying the price. 

Last year, the teacher pay penalty hit a record high, with educators earning nearly 27% less than other college graduates. It’s unfair—and it’s driving a nationwide teacher shortage that threatens the very future of public education.

President Trump made this crisis worse. He gutted the Department of Education, canceled grants that helped teachers, and rammed through the “Big Ugly Bill,” slashing billions from schools. His cuts forced districts to pack classrooms, scramble for substitutes, and push dedicated teachers out of the profession.

Now it’s on Congress to undo the damage. Tell Congress: “Invest in our teachers now. Restore education funding to help our teachers succeed.” 

Teachers should not have to work two jobs or rely on food stamps to make ends meet. Children should not sit in overcrowded classrooms with revolving-door staff. And Congress should not stand by while Trump’s education cuts destroy our schools.

Lawmakers must raise teacher pay and restore federal support for educators—before the teacher pipeline collapses completely. Our kids cannot learn without qualified teachers. Our democracy cannot thrive without strong public schools. And our nation cannot afford to keep treating the people who shape the future like second-class workers.

Our teachers deserve more. Our children deserve better. Congress must act now.
