Family farmers are being sacrificed in Donald Trump’s reckless trade war. Tariffs are crushing small farms, driving families into bankruptcy, and hollowing out rural America—while corporate agribusiness cashes in.

The Senate Finance Committee can stop this disaster. It has the power to block harmful tariff extensions, hold hearings, and demand relief for family farmers. 

But unless we speak out now, Congress will keep siding with big money while the backbone of America’s food supply collapses.

The damage is staggering. Exports have dried up, silos are overflowing with unsold grain, and farm debt is soaring. CNN warns the consequences are “dire.” Even Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican stalwart, blasted Trump’s policy as “stupid.”

Every lost farm means parents forced off their land, children losing generations of heritage, and rural communities stripped of their dignity. Trump’s bailouts only add insult to injury, funneling billions to corporate giants while family farmers get scraps.

America’s farmers deserve better. They deserve policies that honor their work, protect their communities, and ensure that the people who feed us can thrive with dignity.

The Senate Finance Committee must act immediately: end Trump’s tariffs, investigate their damage, and redirect support to the small family farms that actually sustain this country. Anything less is a betrayal of America’s farmers and America’s promise.
