Save Medicaid Coverage for Terminally Ill Patients

This summer, the Trump administration created a new policy that requires terminally ill and medically frail patients with diseases like cancer, HIV/AIDS, or Parkinson's to prove they are too sick to work in order to keep their healthcare. 

That means cancer patients could be forced through a lengthy, confusing, and painful paperwork process while also dealing with treatment, exhaustion, pain, and fear about what comes next.

Terminally ill patients should be focused on rest, treatment, and time with their families, not navigating burdensome paperwork just to keep the care they need. 

Tell Congress to repeal the Medicaid work requirements that require medically frail and terminally ill patients to prove they are too sick to work. 

Under these new rules, even people with devastating diagnoses may have to prove their illness "significantly impairs" their ability to work before they can be exempted.

These new requirements will only lead to sicker patients, more uninsured Americans, and more people going bankrupt due to medical bills. 

Congress must act before seriously ill patients potentially lose healthcare not because they are healthy enough to work, but because they cannot clear a cruel paperwork hurdle while fighting to recover.
