President Trump’s proposed FY2027 budget would increase defense spending by 44% (up to $1.5 trillion!), while cutting education and other non-defense programs by 10%.

For public school families, that could mean fewer educators, fewer supports, and fewer opportunities for our kids. 

The plan shifts costs to states and schools—replacing proven programs with block grants and cutting support for community schools, English learners, teacher training, and nearly $3B in higher ed, making college less accessible.
