Congress is about to bulldoze your state’s right to defend you from AI abuse. It’s a Big Tech power grab, and we have to stop it. Trump allies, like Sen. Ted Cruz, are pushing legislation that would wipe out existing AI laws in California, Tennessee, Colorado, and beyond. It would ban new ones, too. If it passes, say goodbye to protections against deepfakes, AI exploitation of workers, and tools that prey on kids. Cruz's bill even threatens to cut $42 billion in broadband funding to states that dare to protect their residents. It’s extortion, plain and simple, and we need to put pressure on Congress to reject it now. Tell Congress: “Reject Trump and Cruz’s big tech power grab. Let states and cities maintain guard rails on AI.” Rep. Ro Khanna put it plainly: "We shouldn't have a federal policy that preempts all state action when we haven't even figured out the rules yet." This bill is speeding through Congress and could be slipped into a rushed budget package. If we don’t raise hell now, your state’s ability to rein in harmful AI could disappear overnight. We need local control. We need accountability. And we need to tell Congress: hands off our rights. Sign the petition and demand Congress kill this AI power grab before it's too late.
