Right now, the U.S. is the largest exporter of liquefied methane gas (LNG) in the world. The Biden administration recently took bold action to safeguard our environment and communities by temporarily pausing new approvals of LNG facilities. Some in Congress are doing everything they can to stop the LNG pause—a pause that was enacted in the first place because liquefied methane gas is a potent fossil fuel that has devastating impacts on our planet and its people. This is unacceptable. The U.S. must meet our global climate commitments, rapidly phase out fossil fuels, and invest in a just energy transition. The Biden administration has the authority to deny gas export permits and the responsibility to say “no” when the impacts and harms of these facilities outweigh their benefits to the public. Sign your name and demand that President Biden and Secretary Granholm stop dirty and dangerous gas exports once and for all.
