Tell Congress: Don’t Fund Trump’s War in Iran

Donald Trump marched the United States into war with Iran — and now he wants American taxpayers to foot the bill.

U.S. strikes are ongoing, tensions are escalating, and the administration is pushing Congress to approve tens of billions of dollars in emergency military funding to sustain the conflict. Defense contractors are already meeting with White House officials as lawmakers are coming under pressure to approve a massive supplemental package.

This is exactly how endless wars begin: A president launches military action first, then demands Congress write a blank check after the fact. We can't allow that to happen.

The stakes could not be higher. Iran is a major regional power with the ability to retaliate across the Middle East, putting U.S. troops, civilians, and allies at risk. Analysts warn that a wider war with Iran could spiral across the region and cost trillions of dollars over time.

And while families across the United States struggle with rising costs, Republicans in Congress are preparing to pour billions more into missiles, bombs, and weapons to sustain the fighting.

Representative Greg Casar, chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, captured the outrage many Americans feel. “While they kick 17 million Americans off their healthcare, Republicans want to spend billions on Trump’s reckless war of choice,” Casar said. “Hell no.”

Congress has the power to stop this dangerous escalation. Lawmakers must refuse to approve emergency war funding and demand a real strategy that prioritizes diplomacy and peace over another disastrous military conflict.

Tell Congress: Don’t fund Trump’s war in Iran. Reject tens of billions in emergency war funding and stop this conflict from spiraling further out of control.

The petition to Congress reads: “Don’t fund Trump’s war in Iran. Reject tens of billions in emergency war funding for this conflict.”
