Tell Congress: Fight for Clean and Affordable Transportation

Republicans in Congress are currently trying to sneak a policy into an important transportation bill that would make cleaner cars more expensive by taxing electric vehicles.

If they succeed, it could raise transportation costs for families and increase climate pollution by up to 230 million metric tons. That's the equivalent of adding 54 million gas-powered cars to the road for a year.

Not to mention, it would effectively destroy the electric vehicle industry and all of the jobs and other benefits that come with it.

With working families across the country already feeling the burden of rising costs, EV taxes would do nothing to help. Instead, they would just lock us into higher costs and higher pollution for years.

As the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill moves through committee markups, it's important for every lawmaker to hear from their constituents so that they don't cave into pressure to attack EVs.
