Tell Congress: Raise the wage

The easiest way to make things more affordable is to have people make more money, and keep more of the money they make. Things are only affordable if you are paid the wages you need in order to afford them.

It’s 2026 and the federal minimum wage is the same as it was in 2009. That means it’s up to individual states to act on their own volition and raise the wage. For nearly two dozen states, the minimum wage just went up. That sounds like progress on its face, but in reality, there still isn’t a single state or territory that pays a living wage in the United States. Even in states where the minimum wage is higher, workers are still not making enough to afford the basic essentials for a healthy and stable life.
