Tell Congress: Stop RFK from Undermining the CDC

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is trying to force out CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez—less than a month into her job—because she refused to support his dangerous, anti-science agenda. 

This deeply alarming move is part of Kennedy’s broader campaign to erode trust in vaccines and silence scientific leadership at a time when COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise. 

According to media reports, Dr. Monarez resisted political pressure to revise CDC vaccine guidance based on Kennedy’s fringe beliefs. Her attempted removal was followed a wave of resignations at the CDC and comes just as the FDA—under Kennedy’s oversight—approved updated COVID-19 vaccines with newly imposed restrictions that limit public access. 

This coordination signals a clear and dangerous pattern of political interference. That's why we're calling on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee must act immediately. 

The CDC and FDA are meant to serve the public good—not to be hijacked by a conspiracy theorist with a long record of spreading vaccine misinformation. If Congress allows RFK’s assault on public health to continue, they will be complicit in the consequences.

The American people deserve science-based policy, especially during a time of rising COVID-19 infections in states like Colorado and beyond. Weakening the CDC and restricting vaccine availability puts lives at risk and undermines decades of progress in public health.

The Senate HELP Committee has the power to investigate these abuses, subpoena RFK Jr., and hold public hearings to expose what’s happening behind closed doors. But they will only act if we demand it.
