Tell ICE: Keep Kids in Classes, Not Cages

Children should carry backpacks—not booking numbers. But across America, ICE agents are arresting students on their way to school, tearing families apart, and spreading fear through classrooms. 

Kids are skipping class because they’re terrified they might never make it home.

We can stop this cruelty. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Education Secretary Linda McMahon have the power to immediately ban ICE enforcement near schools, release detained students, and restore “sensitive location” protections that keep kids safe.

Recent reports from The New York Times and Common Dreams show ICE agents detaining children near school grounds. Teachers in Chicago and New Jersey are pleading for help. “ICE is using your tax dollars to target children,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

This is state-sanctioned trauma. It has to end now.
