Tell JD Vance: Stop Defending Racism

Racism isn’t a joke. Antisemitism isn’t kids being kids.

But that’s what Vice President JD Vance called the pro-Nazi memes, racial slurs, and violent fantasies revealed in a leaked Young Republicans group chat. Instead of condemning hate, he brushed it off—and even tried to blame Democrats.

Vance’s excuses fit a pattern. He’s spread racist lies about Haitian immigrants and repeatedly defended bigotry as “free speech.” Every time he downplays hate, extremists hear permission—and our communities pay the price.

We can’t let the second-highest official in the country normalize white nationalism.

JD Vance must retract his defense of the Young Republicans’ racist messages, issue a public apology, and commit to removing anyone tied to hate speech from positions of power.
