Urge the US Chamber of Commerce to Drop Climate Lawsuit

The world faces a worsening climate crisis, and big corporations continue to play an outsize role in producing emissions and polluting communities. To date, 72 percent of the world's carbon emissions can be traced to just 122 high-polluting companies.

As devastating climate impacts increasingly harm people, infrastructure, and economies, it is essential that corporations provide more transparency to the public and their investors about their contribution to the problem, as well as the threat that climate change poses to their own operations, so that communities can make informed decisions.

Mandatory and standardized climate disclosure can help communities and businesses alike spur climate action, stabilize the financial system, and verify sustainable business practices while holding fossil fuel companies accountable. The state of California has adopted requirements for corporations to provide this information. Yet the US Chamber of Commerce, one of the world's largest business lobbying groups, is suing California to stop these climate disclosure requirements from going into effect.

Write today and demand the US Chamber of Commerce drop this lawsuit against climate disclosure. Tell them we need all the tools and information available to fight one of the most existential threats facing humanity today.
